My favorite movies are Legally Blonde, Save the Last Dance, Shrek, and The Replacements. My Passion This year I recently found my passion in rollercoasters! Millennium Force is my favorite which is 310 feet tall, 85 degree drop, and 93 MPH. I have gone on all of the rollercoasters at the park except one since I am not waiting in a 5 hour line. Okay so Hooter girl gossip is interesting.

Apparently Erika, the girl I got hired with, isn't doing too hot in the serving department. This concerns me, because the other girls are judging her performance and reporting it back to the managers. "She's not ready to be on the floor." I do not want this to happen to me, especially hearing it from Liana who I've grown to respect, a great deal. Her personality and style is perfection, she has a class and sophistication, as well as professionalism, that many of the 20 year old CT's can't match.

I'm scared of not doing well. With these tables, it's all in my hands. I need to get my spiel down. I need to get more confidence. I need to get my shit together. Which is why this entry won't be longer, I'm going to go study.

Training so far, has been quite intimidating.

Hair.

So in the black community, "good hair" is seriously a crazy issue.

Having not grown up around many black people, I wasn't exposed to relaxers early on, or even hot tools. However this didn't mean that I was not ridiculed. Having grown up in a predominantly white environment, my multi-cultural background gave way to white culture, which often has no idea what to think of me, and additionally, my seemingly eccentric hair.

As a child, my mother did the best she could, keeping my hair in braids and and ponytails. My hair has always been incredibly long for a "black girl", due primarily to my Filipina, Spanish, and Tlingit heritage. However recently... I've become addicted to hair extensions, due largely in part to seeing white people use them. Funny, huh? Cause most hair pieces I've ever heard of have been used by African Americans.

Now I refuse to call them weaves - those are traditionally sewn or glued into the hair. The types I use are clip in - no damage done to the hair, you just clip in the wefts and take them out at the end of the day. It dramatically changes my look, and for some funny reason, I feel more attractive and desirable with these hair pieces in. It's why I think I got the job at Hooters, actually.

I feel like in order to be wanted, I must be straightened and styled to be accepted. Isn't that interesting? The one awful thing about hair extensions... or a woman's weave... are those times when you're trying to be intimate. Flashbacks to Aaron trying to run his fingers through my hair as I went down on him. Dodging bullets I was... you can only imagine.
